A few weeks ago, a family approached me asking me to take their fall family photos in Westfield. The fall colors were perfect. We had that crisp autumn air. The sun was out but not too overpowering. All I needed was my favorite beverage from Starbucks (a caramel apple spice) and a good book, and I could have stayed long after my clients had left. I love this time of year. I wish this magical autumnal woodland could last longer.
Check out my client’s fall family photos. They did so well, and they even brought their dog! I love animals. I absolutely adore them. I’m like a child when I see one, and I get really excited when my clients bring their pets with them (hint hint).
I love how their outfits work so well together and especially how it flows with the background colors and textures. This fall family photo session was fantastic! The combination of warm, autumnal colors and coordinated outfits made the photos look cohesive and beautiful.
Each family photography session is an opportunity to create timeless memories. The joy and connection between family members shine through in every photo, capturing moments that will be cherished for years to come. With its vibrant colors and crisp air, the fall season provides a perfect backdrop for these sessions.
One of the highlights of this family photography session was the inclusion of their dog. Pets are part of the family, and their presence adds a special touch to the photos. The excitement and joy that pets bring to a session are unmatched, making the photos even more memorable.
The best time for a fall family photography session is during the golden hour, shortly after sunrise or before sunset. The soft, warm light during this time enhances the natural beauty of the surroundings and provides a flattering glow to the subjects.
When planning outfits for a fall family photography session, consider the colors and textures of the season. Warm tones like reds, oranges, and browns complement the autumn foliage. Layered clothing not only looks stylish but also adds depth to the photos.
Bringing along personal items or props can add a unique touch to your photos. Whether it’s a favorite blanket, a beloved pet, or a special accessory, these personal touches make the session more meaningful and reflect your family’s personality.

Most full family photography sessions last around 45 minutes. This allows enough time to capture a variety of poses, candid moments, and different settings without feeling rushed.

To ensure a smooth session, arrive on time and bring any personal items or props you’d like to include in the photos. Keep some snacks and water handy, especially if you have young children. Most importantly, relax and have fun!
You can typically expect to receive your edited images within 3 to 4 weeks after the session. Your photographer will provide an online gallery where you can view, download, and share your photos.
Many photographers offer options for ordering prints, albums, and other photo products. These can be a wonderful way to display and cherish your family photos. Be sure to discuss available options with your photographer during the booking process.
