Hi guys! With this recent snowfall, Melody and I decided to do an awesome snow photoshoot at our home in Westfield. It was so much fun watching her learn and play! There’s something magical about the first snowfall of the season. The world gets blanketed in white, and everything seems to sparkle. It was the perfect opportunity to capture these beautiful moments with my daughter.
Yes, you read that correctly. It is not “How to Build a Snowman” it is “How to Build a SnowMiss”. Melody adamantly wanted it to be known that she was building a GIRL snowman – so she called it her SnowMiss. With her creativity and determination, we set out to build the most fabulous SnowMiss ever. I used my brand new camera, my EOS R6, and paired it with my Sigma Art 35 mm. Check out the images below!
Melody’s excitement was contagious. She carefully crafted the SnowMiss, complete with a scarf and hat. Her attention to detail was impressive. She made sure her SnowMiss smiled and even added twigs for arms. The whole process was a wonderful bonding experience and a reminder of how joyful and creative children can be.
There’s a unique charm to winter photography. The crisp air, the serene white landscape, and the cozy feeling of being bundled up all create magical photos. During our snow photoshoot, I captured Melody’s pure joy and wonder. Each click of the camera froze a moment in time – her laughter, her concentration as she built the SnowMiss and her playful interactions with the snow.
The new EOS R6 camera and Sigma Art 35 mm lens were amazing tools for this shoot. The photos are stunning in clarity and detail, and the lens was perfect for capturing both wide shots of the snowy landscape and close-ups of Melody’s expressions. Seeing the results and knowing that these memories will be cherished forever was a joy.
If you would like to book a family, maternity, newborn, or milestone session this spring, my calendar is now open! Spring is a fantastic time for photography. The flowers are blooming, the weather is warming up, and everything feels fresh and new. Whether you want to capture your growing family, celebrate a new addition, or document a special milestone, I would love to work with you. If you would like more information, please check out this blog post!
My daughter is amazing and I am so proud of her and who she is. She has boundaries, and I respect her so much for not only having them but also not being afraid to tell people about them. I love how passionate she is and how she will stop to help anyone. I admire her bravery and courage, especially when she started a new school this year. She is a great sister to baby Sirius and an all-around terrific person.
She just turned eight a couple of weeks ago and we had a totally rad dinosaur-themed party. We invited her classmates, her girl scout troop, and family members. Sweet Bites Bakery, which I use for my cake-smash sessions, made her personal birthday cake and all 50 cupcakes for the guests! It was fantastic! Seeing Melody’s face light up as she celebrated with her friends and family was one of the highlights of my year.
Every season has its own unique beauty, and winter is no exception. The snow-covered landscape provides a stunning backdrop for photos, and the cold weather brings people together in an intimate and cozy way. Our snow photoshoot was a perfect example of this. It was a time to enjoy life’s simple pleasures – building a snowman, playing in the snow, and spending quality time together.
Spring, on the other hand, is a time of renewal and growth. It’s a wonderful season for family photography because everything is coming back to life. The vibrant colors, blooming flowers, and warm sunlight create a perfect setting for capturing family moments. I am incredibly excited to start my spring photography sessions and to help families create beautiful memories.
